These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "user") and the Service Provider concerning your access to and use of the Veronica mobile application (the "Application").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Application.


1. MEDICAL SERVICES AND INFORMATION DISCLAIMER

1.1 Not Medical Advice The Application provides medication scanning, drug information, clinical calculators, and AI-assisted informational responses. All content, including text, data outputs, and AI-generated responses, is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

1.2 No Doctor–Patient Relationship Use of the Application does not create a physician–patient, nurse–patient, or any other healthcare professional relationship. The Application does not provide medical diagnoses, prescribe treatment, or replace professional clinical judgment.

1.3 Professional Consultation Required You must always seek the advice of a qualified physician, pharmacist, or other licensed healthcare professional regarding any medical condition or medication decision. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of information obtained from the Application.

1.4 Emergency Use Excluded The Application is NOT intended for use in medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or life-threatening condition, call your local emergency number (e.g., 911, 999) or visit the nearest emergency facility immediately.

1.5 Mental Health Tools The PHQ-9 Depression Assessment and GCS Score available in the Application are screening and educational tools only. They do not constitute a clinical diagnosis. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified mental health professional or a crisis helpline in your country immediately.


2. DRUG INFORMATION, DATA SOURCES, AND SCANNER TECHNOLOGY

2.1 Nature and Accuracy of Drug Information Drug-related information is generated using Artificial Intelligence systems and authoritative third-party reference sources. Medical knowledge evolves continuously, and therefore we do not warrant that any information provided is complete, error-free, or current. All drug information must be independently verified by a licensed pharmacist or healthcare professional before use.

2.2 Drug Information Data Sources Drug information within the Application is derived from authoritative regulatory and labeling sources including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and DailyMed. AI processing is facilitated through third-party providers including OpenAI GPT-4 and similar services. These sources are used to provide evidence-based information on drug indications, contraindications, adverse effects, warnings, and drug–drug interactions.

Users acknowledge that regulatory drug labeling is informational in nature and may not reflect local availability, national treatment guidelines, or individual patient circumstances.

2.3 Medication Label Scanner The medication label scanner uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to identify text from medication packaging. Images captured for this feature are processed securely and permanently deleted from our servers immediately after text extraction. Images are never stored or retained.

Accuracy may be affected by image quality, lighting, and label clarity. Users are solely responsible for manually verifying the detected drug name and strength against the original packaging before relying on any information provided.

2.4 Interactions and Dosage Information Any drug interaction alerts, dosage ranges, or safety considerations generated by the Application are informational prompts only and must be verified by a licensed pharmacist or healthcare professional before use.


3. CLINICAL CALCULATORS

3.1 On-Device Processing All clinical calculators within the Application — including but not limited to BMI, PHQ-9, Framingham Risk Score, Body Surface Area (BSA), Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD), Safe Days, and Water Intake — are processed entirely on your device. No calculator inputs or results are transmitted to our servers or stored in any way. All data is cleared automatically when you close the Application.

3.2 Screening Tools Only These calculators are screening and educational tools only and do not constitute a medical diagnosis or clinical recommendation. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your results.


4. EXTERNAL LINKS AND RESOURCES

The Application may provide links to third-party resources including crisis helplines and reference documents. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the accuracy, availability, or content of external websites or resources. Your use of external links is at your own risk.


5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Application, including its software, algorithms, databases, user interface, text, graphics, and trademarks, is the exclusive property of the Service Provider or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying models of the Application.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Application, including but not limited to:

The Application is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.


8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND FEES

8.1 Third-Party Providers Use of the Application involves third-party services including Google Play Services, RevenueCat (payment processing), Supabase (authentication and database services), BuildShip (AI orchestration), and OpenAI (AI processing). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8.2 Payments Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed exclusively by RevenueCat. We do not collect, process, or store your payment details at any point.

8.3 Connectivity and Charges You are responsible for any internet, mobile data, or carrier charges incurred while using the Application.


9. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service Provider from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application or these Terms at any time. We will endeavor to notify users of significant changes through an in-app notification. Continued use of the Application after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We may terminate your access to the Application at our discretion.


11. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction. You agree that courts of competent jurisdiction shall have exclusive authority to resolve any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Application.
